My Role

  • Facilitated team meetings that included multi-discipline workshops with UX designers and the development team.

  • UX and development team liaison

  • Organized and led stakeholder presentation

  • Organized team-building activities such as lunch, networking, and photoshoots

Current Website problems

  • Correct name of website is unclear to user (Rhong Tiam or Thai Street?)

  • Cannot view their menu from their website.

  • Current website design looks very dated.

  • Their unique style was not represented on their website.

  • Online ordering does not connect to Seamless, their preferred option.

Research

I led the entire team to do some field research via a trip to Thai Street restaurant. We observed things like:

  • Restaurant atmosphere

  • Popular dishes

  • Decorative scheme

  • Restaurant practices (delivery preferences etc)

From this, the designers constructed user stories for each possible feature we wanted to incorporate into the website.

Our Process

  • I created a Trello Board to keep the team’s responsibilities, documents, and timelines on track and centralized.

  • I got the team together to run whiteboarding workshops.

    • MoSCoW map to come together on design ideas and development feasability

    • Crazy Eights to draw out screen ideas and get the whole team involved

Our Solution

  • Used color scheme from restaurant to inspire current design (especially from large displayed chalkboard menu)

  • Made sure most important features (such as Seamless ordering) was accessible through website

  • Included most important information for users clearly on landing page (address, phone number, restaurant name)

  • Used attractive photo of food to draw customers in and let them know right from the start what to expect

Good Communication = Happy Team
